Seamus Kelleher
About
Master storyteller AND singer/guitarist, Seamus Kelleher, started his music career in his hometown of Galway Ireland in the late 60s where, at age fifteen, he was the opening act for international touring groups like Thin Lizzy. After coming to America in 1975, Seamus racked up over 7000 shows at venues and festivals across the US and Europe, performing at Carnegie Hall, the Excelsior in Rome, and many others. Most recently, he was the lead guitarist with Philadelphia’s legendary Celtic Rock band Blackthorn.
Throughout his career, Seamus battled depression, anxiety, and addiction. When not on tour, he uses his gift of music, humor, and an uncanny ability to engage his audience, to help those who struggle with their mental wellness.
When off the road (although never for very long), Seamus is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Texas A&M College of Medicine where he teaches courses on mental wellness and suicide prevention. He is also a co-founder and board member of the Suicide Prevention Alliance.
